History
On September 5, 1996, the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester and Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of Rochester combined to create Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Rochester, New York. This organization continues to operate the Ronald McDonald House, but provides grants to nonprofit organizations that serve children in the greater Rochester community and surrounding counties. Grants are made primarily from funds raised through special events and
promotions in McDonald's restaurants. RMHC is associated with our local
McDonald's restaurants, but is not a corporate foundation. Donations
designated for operations of the Ronald McDonald House are not used for
grantmaking.
