2011 Ronald’s House Sale Raises an Astounding $320,000 to Support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, NY

The 2011 Ronald’s House Sale brought in $320,000, breaking all previous records in its 22nd year.  This volunteer run fundraiser provides a  portion of the operating budget for the two local Ronald McDonald Houses, and is more important than ever with a decline in donations due to the economic climate.

Many thanks to Rochester Tech Park for donating use of the warehouse space where donations are stored, as well as the space in which the Sale was held. We are grateful to three majors sponsors who helped offset the cost of the event: Baldwin Richardson Foods Co., the Kickball League of Rochester, and Wilmorite.

Additional thanks are owed to those who brought their donations, the thousands who came to shop, and the more than 600 volunteers who worked so diligently to make it all come together.

All of the funds raised stay here in Rochester to support the two local Ronald McDonald Houses. Since 1990, the Rochester Ronald McDonald House at Westmoreland has provided lodging and support for families of critically ill children receiving medical attention at Rochester’s health care facilities. The House Within The Hospital provides lodging for families of children in Golisano Children’s Hospital’s pediatric units, and is free of charge to families.
